Senate Bill 9, just signed into law by Governor Newsom, will make it easier to build smaller second units on what are now single-family properties!

The bill, which will take effect Jan. 1, 2022, will effectively put an end to traditional single-family zoning restrictions as we know it in most neighborhoods statewide.

We wanted to take the time to answer one of the most common questions that we receive, what is the timeline for a design phase? Timing varies by job complexity and individual city permitting processes but in most cases we project 4-6 months.
