A safer way home for Zoe!

Today Builders Warehouse team is building a Blitz Build ramp for 11-year-old Zoe, who is living with Rett syndrome and is nonverbal and needs assistance with mobility.

Zoe’s family moved into a single-level home with more space to accommodate her needs, but three uneven steps at the front entrance remained a daily barrier. Their temporary ramp shifted and shook, making a permanent solution essential.

Thanks to all the volunteers taking coming out today and using their time and skills, Zoe and her family will have a stable, accessible entrance and one less challenge as they head out or return home.

A ribbon cutting worth celebrating!

“It feels like freedom to me!”

At 92, Duane G. lives with mobility limitations from post-polio syndrome and emphysema. His new wheelchair ramp allowed him to leave home for the first time in five months.

Now, he can collect his mail, take out his trash, and enjoy dinner out. Your support makes this everyday independence possible.

A few months ago, Sheree’s life changed dramatically when a severe case of pneumonia became life-threatening. The treatment that saved her life also led to a loss of circulation in her hands and feet, resulting in the amputation of both legs below the knee and all of her fingers.

As Sheree adjusts to these changes, having a home that supports her mobility and daily needs is essential.

Thanks to Lennar, Sheree now has a ramp and a newly modified bathroom, helping her access her home safely and navigate daily routines with greater independence.

Thank you, Lennar, for putting your skills and care into creating a home that better meets Sheree’s needs.

GREAT NEWS - this project has been picked up, we are no longer for a Project Captain! A flooring change can make a meaningful difference in daily life. HBF is looking for a volunteer Project Captain to lead a bedroom flooring replacement for a client whose carpet makes maneuvering a wheelchair difficult.

Replacing it with a more accessible surface will make moving around the bedroom easier.

For Carol’s family, a ramp made everyday moments more accessible.

Front steps once made leaving home difficult and dangerous for her mom. With HBF’s help, she could get out for appointments and enjoy wheelchair walks with her grandson.
