Requirements
- 3+ years experience as construction foreman or equivalent
- 5+ years carpenter experience
- Must live in Wallowa County – Job is based in our corporate office
- Valid Driver License – Must travel to job sites as needed
- Basic construction law and general business practices
- Microsoft office and construction software skills
- Strong work ethic with excellent communication, organization, and management skills
- Must be a team player and adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures
- Familiar with OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans
Desired Certifications
- Occupational safety and health administration 30 certification
- Lead-based paint renovation certification
- AHERA Building Inspector Certification
- Aerial/Boom Lift Certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Not limited to – other duties may be assigned)
- Comply and ensure compliance with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
- Meet with the construction teams at designated times. Maintain communication, make all meetings, and assist the team for all construction activities.
- Assesses equipment, materials and labor needed to complete large and/or complex preparation and construction activities for the purpose of ensuring that maintenance activities meet company standards and resolve defined issue(s) while reducing wasted resources.
- Provide supervisory direction of construction workers via the construction foreman, construction workers, and laborers.
- Manage the performance of productivity, safety, quality, and schedule teams accordingly.
- Communicate with general contractors, architects, and owners to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Viridian Construction staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
- Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
- Assist in schedule planning, determining labor levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
- Essential to this position is the ability to lead, direct, coach, and discipline employees in alignment with company processes, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company's non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies.
- Attend job walks, determine scope, product specs and any other relevant project details and take accurate measurements and provide them to the President.
- Set-up and operate equipment for construction activity.
- Performs self-inspection/evaluation of work to ensure required/expected results are achieved per work instructions or guidance.
- Write specifications, order, and maintain an inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment.i
