What a day, so many people to thank. First off Muckleshoot Tribe for allowing us to take the youth here, security helping us get in, Cinamon for arranging it, Lilly and Becky, all the crew leads for helping and mostly the youth for all the hard work up on the mountain so we could have a day like today. I have had a lot of wonderful days but today was one of the top. I never fished but had an amazing time watching, helping, cooking, telling stories, listening to stories. Wonderful day. Thanks again everyone!♥️

This week the summer youth crew leads came on board, after today we will be ready for the youth to start on Monday. This will be our 10th season and over 300 students who have worked on Tomanamus. Thinking back it is just amazing what this program has evolved into, and the projects we have completed. One of my favorite projects was breaking ground on Medicine Eagle Flats and erecting the very first welcome arches, each crew member have contributed to this project every year. Thank you Muckleshoot Indian Tribe what an amazing experience for us all! I can not wait for Monday to get this year started. Another one of those amazing days up on Tomanamus. It is always my favorite days when our full time guys can work with the youth. The Muckleshoot tribal school sent some of the 6th-9th grade students up to help plant 500 yellow cedar seedlings. Let me just say we were all pretty dirty and wet by the end of the plant. A huge shoutout to the Silviculture crew for taking the youngsters under your wing and teaching them part of your job! Mother Nature threw us some pretty rainy weather today but we all know the weather that’s coming next weekend needs this rain!

Story Time😎 working in Buckley today. I was thinking how many times have I went through this gate😳 During the 70’s came in with the father in law hunting. During the 80’s worked in the rigging for St Regis, also late 80’s started grading these roads for Champion. Now it is 2023 still here pretty sure it’s more then just a job, it’s a way of life. I am very fortunate to have the great outdoors as my office and being surrounded by an amazing team who feels the same way!

The road crews have become great stewards of the forest, continually keeping the water clean. Yet another job well done...
