We’re proud to be part of another exciting milestone for our region!

This past week marked the groundbreaking of the Oliver Mills to Mountain Top section of the D&L Trail, a project that will help connect communities, preserve local history, and create new opportunities for outdoor recreation throughout Luzerne County. This new section of trail will transform a former railroad corridor into a multi-use trail for residents and visitors to enjoy for generations to come.

Rutledge Excavating is honored to play a role in bringing this vision to life. Projects like this are about more than moving dirt—they’re about building lasting infrastructure that strengthens our communities and enhances the quality of life across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

We appreciate the trust placed in our team and look forward to seeing this trail take shape in the months ahead.

Today we celebrate the backbone of our office at Rutledge Excavating — our administrative professionals. 👷🏼🚧👷🏼‍♂️

In construction, the work in the field only happens because of the work happening behind the scenes. From payroll and invoicing, to estimating support, project management coordination, scheduling, permits, vendor communication, compliance paperwork, and keeping projects organized and moving forward — our office staff helps keep every job running.

They manage the details, solve problems before they reach the field, and help connect the office, crews, clients, and suppliers every day.

On Administrative Professionals Day, we want to recognize and thank our team for the hard work, dedication, and organization you bring to Rutledge Excavating. Your efforts are a huge part of every project we complete. 🎉

In an effort to reduce emissions and “get back to our roots,” we’re proud to announce that all heavy equipment has officially been replaced…

🐎 With a fleet of high-performance draft horses

That’s right — our excavators, dozers, and loaders have been retired and traded in for horsepower… the original kind.

• Need a trench dug? — Hitch up the boys
• Moving material? — We’ve got a wagon for that
• Fine grading? — Depends how straight the horses feel like walking that day

We’re also excited to introduce our new safety guy… he bites.

We appreciate your continued support as we transition into this bold, all-natural future. Bids may take a little longer… oats aren’t cheap.

A huge thank you to our incredible crew who worked safely and efficiently through the overnight hours several nights this week helping remove snow after this major storm for our friends at the City of Scranton. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed! 🤝

We’d also like to extend a special thank you to the Scranton Police Department for keeping the work zones safe and traffic moving while crews got the job done. 🚨
