This is not my typical project but it’s kinda cool. This is a bunkhouse at an old family cottage. The cottage was raised on a new foundation years ago and now it’s finally time to bring the bunkhouse up to the same level. Crane lifted off the old foundation on those I beams so a new one could be poured. Reinforced the front with a laminated 2x6 beam and adding new treated sill plates for connection onto the new foundation when the crane is available to fly it back into place. Also, Ember clearly was not having it with pictures tonight 🤣😎

Just kidding. Some of the half log siding was loose so we were hoping to just replace a small section. What we found underneath was a completely different story. So it was a quick cover up for overnight. The entire wall, inside and out, needs to be completely rebuilt and sealed up properly. Water is a very damaging element so please be sure all aspects of doors, windows and siding are sealed properly and always perform routine maintenance whether you do it yourself or hire out. A little bit now could save you a whole lot later!

I don’t normally mess with garage doors. At all. But this one I didn’t have a choice. Removed the openers, tore out all the wood bracing so I could run the ceiling, and reinstalled everything once the ceiling was up. Safe to say it’s a much cleaner look now. And yes, the doors are functional after I messed with everything 😁😎

Had to get creative working around those door tracks but ceiling is up and done! 🙌🏻 Now to finish bracing the door track...
