Cutting beam end details is where precision really matters.

Today the band saw was the tool of choice for shaping the beam ends, making quick work of the curved and angled cuts while maintaining exceptional accuracy. When you're working with large Douglas fir timbers, having a saw that tracks true and handles heavy stock with confidence makes all the difference.

There’s something rewarding about watching a rough timber transform into a finished beam, each cut revealing the grain and character hidden inside. Clean lines, crisp details, and a pile of fresh sawdust at the end of the day.

There’s something satisfying about cutting a graceful curve into a massive tie beam.

Today’s task called for shaping a sweeping profile into a Douglas fir timber, and the band saw made the work feel almost effortless. The precision, control, and clean cut quality are hard to beat when you're working with material this substantial.

As the blade followed the layout line, the shop filled with that unmistakable scent of freshly cut Douglas fir. It's one of those small pleasures of timber framing that never gets old.
