Today, we celebrate the birthday of the man who started it all — Mr. Johnny Lyons.

What began as one man’s dream, built on hard work, honesty, and dedication, has grown into something our family is incredibly proud of. While Mr. Johnny may no longer be with us, his legacy lives on every single day through the company he founded and the people who continue to carry his vision forward.

Here is a little reminder that while buildings, trucks, and teams may grow, the values he built this company on remain exactly the same.

If you’ve been around Johnny Lyons Electric for a while, you’ve probably noticed we’ve come a long way when it comes to technology. 😅

Back in the day, everything was done the old-school way—pen, paper, handwritten time sheets, material logs, and plenty of notebooks. It worked… until it didn’t. 🤦‍♀️

One day, we managed to lose an entire notebook that had job time and materials written down in it. An ENTIRE BOOK. 📖💨

Cue Lathan’s reaction: “That’s not good!” 😂

As the company continued to grow, we realized we needed better systems to keep up. That’s when Lainey came in and began introducing new processes and technology to help streamline operations and improve efficiency throughout the office. Over the years, those changes helped us move from paper-heavy processes to the digital tools we rely on today.

As things continued to grow, Lainey realized she could use a little help keeping everything running smoothly. Enter Mrs. Emily Richard! Together, they make a great team in the office, working behind the scenes to keep payroll processed, invoices sent, paperwork organized, and the day-to-day operations moving forward.

Today, our technicians enter time, materials, photos, and job notes digitally, helping us keep better records, provide faster invoicing, and serve our customers more efficiently.

Sometimes progress comes from learning lessons the hard way! Watch the video for a quick trip down memory lane and a small reminder of just how far we’ve come.

As crawfish season comes to a close, we wanted to congratulate the Big Red’s team on a great year and thank them for the opportunity to be part of their journey.
