MOHAWK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY TOP 10 THIS PAST SATURDAY
After spending some time at Fastline Performance on Friday afternoon, to go through our chassis and suspension, Taylor headed to the Mohawk International Raceway on Saturday to try out the changes.
The car was much better in hot laps, turning times in the top 10. He would line up 3rd for his heat and by lap 4 he had moved into the second spot, but got beat at the checkers finishing 3rd.
The changes seem to be working and it was time for the 25 lap feature. Taylor would start 9th in the 22-car field and at the drop of the green would settle into the top 10. The race would go green to checkers with no cautions and there was very little passing, he would finish where he started in 9th.
We are still a little off on our lap times but know we have something to work with now and Taylor is working hard to stay competitive. We would like to thank Mike Walton and Peyton Talbot at Fastline Performance for taking the time to help us sort things out, we appreciate it.
As we head into the final week of the regular season, we would like to thank those that continue to support us, Dorr marine and excavation Inc., Rick’s Plumbing and Heating, DeRosia Masonry, Fast L**e of Watertown, Taylor Doxtater Roofing LLC., D&S Garage, Jess and Eve’s Race Gear and Fabrication, Number One Speed Oval Track Supply and Bob Sr., the backbone of Thurston Family Racing. We will be at Can-Am this Friday to close out their regular season, then our tentative schedule will be Can-Am for the Showdown in September Weekend on September 6th and 7th, the Mohawk International Raceway September 13th, the Outlaw 200 Weekend at the Fulton Speedway October 4th and 5th and the Fall Nationals at the Brockville Ontario Speedway October 18th and 19th. We will take each race, one race at a time and if we stay competitive will keep going. We will decide on Super DIRT Week at the Oswego Speedway after our race at Mohawk, with the time and expense of Super DIRT Week, we need to make sure we can go and compete against some of the best in DIRTcar Sportsman racing. Please remember to support those that support us and short track racing, see you at Can-Am this Friday.
