A customer told me today a TruGreen sales rep had stopped by his residence.

After some minor hesitation after looking over the yard, the sales rep said, "Whatever you're doing to your yard, you're doing it well!" Then proceeded to walk away.

It's great hearing these stories from my valued customers that put the time in on their yard, that it's even recognized by other companies.

A great reminder going into Summer months:

✔️ Mow higher (actual turf height should not be below 3") This will retain moisture more efficiently and keep it greener while deterring w**d pressure

✔️ Don't gouge or scalp curbs or edges

✔️ Water deeply and infrequently to mimic rainfalls if we stay dry and hot

This is one reason why spring seeding is not ideal. It coincides with the pre-emergence timing of crabgrass. Given that frosts can occur as late as May in some years, newly emerged seedlings may not survive. For small areas requiring repair, the risks are manageable, but larger spring renovations face significant challenges. Therefore, if overseeding is being considered, it is advised to postpone until fall, allowing seedlings sufficient time to establish before winter and pre-emergent applications.

We are working through lawns, as weather permits. There's been quite a bit of rain lately, and lawns have been soft.

Working through Waterloo right now and will continue west towards cedar falls next week/10 days.
