Only the best for our clients: today we went shopping for some high-quality oak hardwood and what else would we choose other than Owl. I love this place. The smells the sites, the organization, it’s just the best. After we loaded up, we thought it would be a good time to grab a slice. So glad we stopped by Gigiottos. Worth it!! Now back to the garage. We need to mill this lumber so we can build a fireplace wall.

The old moldings are removed and we’re planning out where to put the new moldings to connect everything together. So much work goes on behind the scenes to make sure that our clients receive a quality finished product. 🤓👌🏻

We’re starting a new project today helping to bring three separate pieces together to create a really cool fireplace wall. The two side pieces are fairly old vintage pieces and the mantle piece is about 22 years old made for a certain couple back in 2004. We’ll join these together and a fireplace will be installed to complete the look. This will be a really fun carpentry project!

This bathroom was totally transformed. The guts were 1920’s with what appears to be an 80’s or 90’s refresh. We gutted it completely and rebuilt it from the floor up. We’re remodeling a basement in Evanston after the homeowners have had terrible water problems over the years. A waterproofing contractor installed drain tile around the perimeter of their basement to relieve the hydrostatic pressure. Afterwards we applied a liquid v***r barrier (V***r Ban W from Laticrete) and pouring an entire new floor with NXT Level liquid floor leveler also from Laticrete. This new floor will be perfect when we are through with it!

Setting tile all last week and the space is really coming together. The tile was very tricky and required a lot of technique to set and grout properly. We think it turned out really nice for the client. Millwork and paint are in progress and we’ll be setting fixtures soon. Stay tuned!

The work continues with two days of rather tricky planning, prep, and tile setting. Penny tiles and wavy wall tiles are not to be taken lightly. The quality of the work is a direct function of the severity of the consequences. Let’s do this!
