A full day of blocking and floor prep work was completed earlier this week and we’re ready now for drywall. It’s critical to take time with the prep to make sure all the walls are plum and straight, ceilings are level, and proper blocking is in place for shower glass and other critical items. Especially in old 1920s Chicago bathrooms. Definitely not a step to be skipped! We purchased the shower wall materials and we started to put up our first piece of drywall. Make no mistake this is incredibly hard work. Between purchasing materials this am, delivering them to the site, loading them in up two flights of stairs, and then INSTALLING THEM today has been a day!

Plumbing is now complete at the 1920s bathroom remodel project. This shower and space is going to be beautiful. Stay tuned!

We repaired this rotted and peeling window back to full function and good looks. Client is happy it’s fixed! Great work

We’re waiting on the plumbers at this bathroom remodel project so we need to find a few things to do. Might as well fix the ceiling to perfectly level and add blocking in various areas in preparation for future work. We spent some time diagnosing electrical issues as well in preparation for the main electrical work. Good planning gets good results.

Bathroom number two at the whole home remodel project is now complete. Well, the tile work anyway 😵‍💫. We had fun with this one, creating a mitered picture framed border around the niche. I couldn’t be happier with the way this turned out. We even added a sleek shelf that was also mitered on the edges. The two showers at this, home have taken roughly 200 hours and presented us with some big challenges. We think the client is going to be very happy with the outcome!

It’s all good! We are tiling the main shower today at the whole home remodel. The key to this install is the perfect flow from the walls directly into the niche. We are mitering the tile at the niche edges, which will be a nice feature. Tiling the floating shelf has also begun. We’ll finish up these walls tomorrow and we’re pumped about this sleek shower.

We set the first shower floor today at the whole home remodel project. This is a zero entry shower has a tiled drain cover to make it blend in. We love it!

One more day plus some minor touch ups. This workout space is almost complete!
