Let's play another game of what would you do? How would you fix this?

We're talking about a premium system here. All covered by insurance . With a CertainTeed presidential Shake IR with CertainTeed underlayment and ice and water Shield and polystick xfr in the valleys. Double starter 2x4 drip edge. All new gutters coming. Running a tight ship here.

Up to code. Still looks like Georgetown.
These homes were built under a different set of codes, and most of what's wrong with them is hiding under something that looks fine from the street. Fixing that without touching the character is the whole job.

They tell me I need "engaging content." "Make it pop," they say. So I let a robot generate a video of me in a turf war with a Colorado black bear over some architectural shingles. It's absurd, it's completely fake, but hey, you're reading this, aren't you?
If your exterior is being a bear, stop screwing around with it. Call Icon Roofing and Exteriors for headache mitigation. We fix the house, you take an aspirin.

That hail was relentless. ⛈️🧊 Is your roof hiding damage?

After a major weather event, we get a lot of questions about when it’s time to call a professional roofer. Here is why you shouldn't wait after a hailstorm:

Hidden bruising: Hail impacts shatter the fiberglass backing of your shingles, causing weak spots you usually can't see from the yard.

Granule loss: If your gutters and downspouts are suddenly full of shingle gravel, your roof's primary defense system has been compromised.

Dented metal: Dented gutters, flashing, or roof vents are a dead giveaway that the main roof took a serious beating.

A pro doesn't just patch a hole; we know exactly how to identify and document this specific damage. Keep yourself safely on the ground and let our crew handle the heavy lifting.

Live in hail country? The single smartest upgrade you can make to your roof is Class 4 impact-rated shingles. Here's what they do — and the bonus most homeowners don't know about.

🛡️ WHAT "CLASS 4" MEANS
Shingles are impact-rated Class 1–4. Class 4 is the highest — tested by firing a 2" steel ball at them to simulate hail. They resist the bruising and granule loss that smaller hail inflicts on standard shingles.

💰 THE BONUS MOST PEOPLE MISS
Many Colorado insurers offer a PREMIUM DISCOUNT for Class 4 roofs — because they pay out fewer hail claims. Over the life of the roof, that discount can offset much of the upgrade cost. Ask your agent.

WHAT TO KNOW:
• They cost more up front than standard shingles
• They don't make a roof hail-PROOF — but they dramatically cut damage
• The insurance discount + longer life often makes the math work

In a place that gets hammered every season, this is the upgrade that pays you back.

Curious if Class 4 makes sense for your home? Let's talk it through.
