Sustainability is a defining feature of Crescent Harbor Elementary School. 🏫

Designed as a net-positive energy school, the facility brings together a 376-kilowatt photovoltaic solar array, geothermal ground-source heat pumps, a high-performance building envelope, daylighting strategies, and stormwater bioretention features.

Together, these systems reduce energy consumption and support long-term operational efficiency, while the high-performance building envelope contributes to indoor comfort and acoustic performance.

The sustainable features throughout the facility also create opportunities for environmental education, making the building itself part of the learning environment.

It’s a thoughtful approach to school construction, resulting in a facility designed to operate efficiently, support a comfortable learning environment, and serve the Crescent Harbor community well for generations to come.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of longtime Tiger Construction Superintendent Jim Swansen, who suffered a heart attack while hiking with his Fly Fishing Club.

Jim was a valued member of the Tiger Construction family and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. The knowledge, guidance, and mentorship he shared helped shape many of our current leaders and will remain an important part of his legacy.

Jim will be deeply missed, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him.

The new Crescent Harbor Elementary School is ready for students, but the work on site continues! 🚧

is completing asphalt work, while Tiger Civil begins demolition of the old school over the next month.

Once the old school is removed, the space will make way for a new synthetic turf field.

There’s more work ahead and we’re looking forward to sharing the progress.

Tiger Construction is proud to support organizations that are creating real impact in our community.

This year’s Sunset Serenade benefiting the YWCA Bellingham was an incredible success, raising over $100,000 to support women and children through family shelter, senior shelter, and permanent housing programs.

We were honored to help sponsor the evening and be part of an event centered around one powerful theme: community. At Tiger, we believe building strong communities goes far beyond construction projects—it’s about supporting the people and organizations working every day to create stability, safety, and opportunity for others.

Thank you to the YWCA team, organizers, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to such a meaningful evening. We’re grateful to play a small role in helping make a difference.
