ESACC Electrical Trades

ESACC Electrical Trades We are a pre-apprenticeship Electrical program for juniors and seniors in high school. The Electrical Trade is a one or two year course.

Through authentic lab and job site training experiences, coupled with NCCER curriculum and NEC code study, students can jump start their career journey. The Electrical Trades program introduces residential and commercial wiring, electrical installation, and electrical troubleshooting and service. Topics include basic electricity, electrical construction codes and practices, the National Electrical

Code, the use of test equipment, and electrical hand and power tools. Skills in safety, mathematics, leadership, and problem solving are reinforced in this course. Job shadowing is an appropriate work-based learning strategy for this course. Hands-on work experiences and SkillsUSA leadership activities provide many opportunities to enhance classroom instruction and career development. The first year will introduce applications of residential wiring and related sections in the National Electric Code Book (NEC). The second year will involve advanced residential and commercial applications. The electrical trades program was approved to implement the IEC‘s national pre-apprenticeship training curriculum. This will include all supply wiring for receptacles, switches and appliances, as well as breaker panel installation and completion. Also included will be the low voltage wiring that includes phone, TV cabling, thermostat, door bell, and Cat 5 cable installation. The class will consist of a mixture of lectures, lab, on-site wiring, field trips, and group project interaction.

Remembering Luke Kump today who lost his battle with cancer. The outpouring of love and support in a packed venue in Kearney was a pure display of how much Luke's life touched all that knew him. I will always remember his cheerfulness and positive attitude in the classroom despite his circumstances.
Luke was always thinking of others first and lived his life to the fullest. We will always cherish and never forget his short time spent here on this earth.

Work continues on our spring project for our friends over at the Excelsior Springs Fire Department. We had to hand dig about half of a 110' service entrance trench because of numerous existing cables in the area! We will be providing a 200 Amp service pedestal to power the fire training complex. Thanks to the hard work of the AM and PM classes, we're about ready get this finished up!

Congratulations!!!
