Winter's Keep, stone by stone.

Watching the craftsmanship behind a home like this come together is remarkable. The stone brings depth, texture and permanence to the architecture, grounding the home beautifully in its Northern Wisconsin setting.

Another chapter in this historic Excelsior renovation.

Behind every finished space is a whole lot of work you’ll never see once it’s complete. This kitchen was taken down to the bones and thoughtfully rebuilt for the way the home lives today, while still feeling like it belongs here.

That balance is what we love about working on historic homes. Creating something new without losing the character that made the home special in the first place.

There’s something special about breathing new life into an old home, especially when it’s right here in our Excelsior community.

We’re incredibly proud to have the opportunity to work on historic homes like this one, creating new spaces while honoring the character and history that make them worth preserving.

This home has been part of Excelsior’s story for generations. Now, thoughtfully reimagined as an Airbnb, it gets to begin a new chapter and welcome people into the community we’re so happy to be a part of.

For us, that’s what remodeling is all about. Seeing the potential in what’s already here, honoring where it came from, and creating something that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Maybe you’ve gotten used to working around your home.

The corner that always feels crowded. The storage that never quite made sense. Everyone gathering in the same spot, whether there’s room for them or not.

That was this kitchen.

So we looked at it differently. Not just at what could be updated, but at how this family really lives here.
More room to gather. A place to sit and stay awhile. Storage where you actually need it. A pantry tucked quietly away. Spaces that feel connected, comfortable and easy.

And yes, it became a beautiful kitchen.
But the best part?
It works for them now.

Really works.

And after living in a home that asks you to adjust to it, there’s something pretty wonderful about finally having a home that adjusts to you.

When we started planning our 50th Anniversary celebration, we imagined a beautiful evening.
What we experienced was something much more meaningful.
A room filled with people whose lives have become part of ours.
Some we've known for decades.
Some we're just beginning to know.

Together, they created something no amount of planning could ever manufacture.

A feeling.
One of gratitude, pride, and belonging.
