As 2025 comes to an end, like other years, I enjoy looking back at work we have done, see what worked and where we can improve. To thank the awesome clients who allow us to do the quality of work we love to do. I personally would like to thank the guys, Joe, John, and Alex, because without them I wouldn’t be able to do any of this. To my wife Julie, thank you for the understanding, late nites, calls during dinner, nursing the aches and pains, and dealing with a sometimes grumpy and stressed out husband. I’d also like the thank the people who follow along here on Instagram and Facebook. It has become a hobby for me that I really enjoy (for the most part). Happy New Year everyone!

I like to reshare some of our older videos because they seemed to help people see a different way of doing things. In this five year old video, Joe and I are blending newly installed sod to an existing, established lawn. We size it up, cut the edge, under cut the existing lawn with the half moon edger to establish a seamless joint with no edge. This is a small detail, that isn’t difficult to do, but really makes a difference in the overall quality of a project.

I noticed this large crack in this tree form Hydrangea Paniculata. ‘Limelight’ as I was pruning it back for the season. The tree is healthy on both sides of the crack, so a slightly invasive operation was in order. The stainless steel bolt should hold it nicely, and the bark will grow right over it in the coming seasons. I’ll keep you posted on the results.

I’m not sure if there’s anyone who hasn’t seen this video. It really became pretty popular last year, but I thought I’d put it out again to show anyone that hasn’t. Cutting back ornamental grasses this way really saves time and energy. And to be clear. This variety of grass isn’t sharp, no issues with cuts or itching. It was a sticking point last year😂
