The Laborer I position is expected to install buildings/structures for customers under the direction of a more experienced team member. This individual must be organized, dependable and trainable. This position also requires that the laborer conducts themselves in a professional manner and possess excellent customer service skills. Must be an honest, efficient and positive team player.
Duties:
Clean and prepare construction sites, AKD yard and shops to eliminate possible hazards.
Carry and load construction materials to craft persons working on building construction projects, using flatbed trucks, trailers, forklifts, providing individual possesses required certifications to operate the equipment.
Control traffic passing near, in and around work zones.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials.
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications.
Load, unload, identify, and distribute building materials to the appropriate location according to project plans and specifications.
Position can be physically demanding, at times it requires lifting and carrying heavy objects. Work can be performed at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Skills/Qualifications:
Ability to read and write English, solve math problems quickly and accurately will be required.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 70lbs and able to work at various heights.
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Required to wear PPE such as gloves, steel toe boots, hardhats, approved safety glasses and hearing protection.
