Roth LaMotte Landscape Architecture

Roth LaMotte Landscape Architecture Roth/LaMotte's design philosophy builds upon the need to connect people with the landscape in their daily lives.

We strive to integrate the land with the unique combination of the client's programmatic needs and the ecology of the place. We strive to integrate the land with the unique combination of the client's programmatic needs and the ecology of the place, whether it is an ornamental garden, a trailhead, or a featured area in a National Park. We are always looking to help establish symbiotic relationship

s between the "natural" and the "human" in order to strengthen everyday connections to the natural world. Our recent work has begun to explore the relationship of a site to its current users, its historic past and the protection of special status species. We are excited about this development in our work, as it is a natural progression from our thesis work in graduate school, to our early professional work while working with other firms.

East Black Point is open to the public! Early evenings are lovely with the lights going on and the sunset hitting the EB hills. We're fortunate to have worked on the design of the rehabilitation with an amazing team of NPS & GGNPC Project Managers, great technical consultants and the Site stewardship team.

We've been working on the design and Construction Documents for this since 2009. So very honored and excited to see it happening now. Site visits are spectacular and the crew and NPS are, as per usual, so wonderful to work with. The site work is cruising along and we're moving on to the historic metals restoration, restroom construction and bridge fabrication.

The initiative will provide new access, trails and amenities for the 750,000 annual visitors at the overlook.

It’s been “Arma-goat-don” for the weeds at Fort Mason’s East Black Point. This past month, a herd of the quirky, cloven-hoofed critters cleared the area of invasive vegetation. Learn where the goats came from, why they’ve been in our parks, and how you can carry on their work.
