My career has been built on two foundations: Architecture and Construction.
I studied architecture for eight years at Wentworth Institute of Technology, the University of Oregon, and Portland State University, earning my Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1997. I later continued graduate-level studies at the Boston Architectural College while working in several architecture firms and completing the required 3+ years of professional internships.
Construction, however, has always been my first classroom. Growing alongside my father, a builder, I learned the trade from the ground up. Over the past 30+ years, I have worked as a laborer, carpenter, master carpenter, contractor, and construction supervisor, gaining hands-on experience in nearly every phase of residential and commercial construction. Today, I am a licensed Massachusetts Construction Supervisor.
At Artifex Design Studio, I bring together architectural training and practical construction knowledge to help clients navigate projects with confidence. My goal is to provide creative solutions, realistic construction budgets, and honest guidance throughout the process.
I believe successful projects begin with managing expectations, communicating clearly, and understanding both the possibilities and limitations of a project.
My commitment is simple: set realistic expectations, then work hard to exceed them.
