It’s was a fairly heavy swarm today and with Mother's Day fast approaching, so is the termite swarm season. Here are a few tips and facts that can help, especially if you are new to the area.

The Formosan Swarmer, pictured at the bottom. This is what you are seeing around the lights at night at the soccer field, and your front door.

One picture is the Subterranean Termite Swarmer. These swarm during the day.

When both types land they pull their wings and mate, most mistake them for beetles at this point.

WHAT TO DO.
During this season, which is heavy from May-June, keep your outside lights off or your shades drawn.

WHAT NOT TO DO.
Don’t FREAK out. If they are entering your home roll a towel and place it at the base of the door to help slow them. Painter's tape works wonders. Tape the cracks to help keep them at bay. You can use a vacuum to suck up the swarmers that enter.
