The environment needs dead wood!

The environment needs dead wood!

Don't cut your tree down just because it is dead. Dead trees make great wildlife snags, where so many critters can live. Some species actually require a dead tree to nest in. It may not be ideal to have one of these within striking distance of a valuable target, like your home. But, if there is room, there is low risk. Dead trees often fall apart from the top and don't fail at the base because there is little wind sail or leverage. Common cavity nesters are woodpeckers, hawks, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, bats, lizards, salamanders, raccoons, opossums, wood ducks, kestrels, bluebirds, chickadees, and even bees.

Save the critters!

Save the critters!

Native yards are more than a visual trend; they’re a practical alternative to traditional lawns. Replacing turf grass with native plantings reduces the need for constant mowing, watering, fertilizing, and chemical treatments. These plants are adapted to local conditions, meaning you don't have to keep fussing over them all year!

Beyond saving time and money, native landscapes support healthier soil and create space for pollinators and wildlife, all while offering seasonal beauty that changes throughout the year. It’s a landscape that works with nature instead of against it!

Native plant installs.

Here is a recent wetland mitigation project we completed. All native plants were used, specially tailored to this specific micro region:

- Longleaf pine
- Sweetbay magnolia
- American persimmon
- Red maple
- Sweetgum
- Yaupon holly
- Wax Myrtle

Some native plants can be difficult to find, but our connections in the plant world allow us to make the difficult jobs happen.

We love all landscaping jobs, but native plants are where our hearts lie, and we have the knowledge and ability to put them to good use. If you are interested in getting some native plants going on your property, give us a call!

New native install alert!! 🚨

We took some empty spaces and turned them into pollinator paradise! What started as a messy, once pine filled backyard became a wonderful garden complete with a wandering footpath which we also installed.

We also completed the sod work here, as well as a few irrigation fixes.

Everything we installed, aside from the Meyer lemon and blueberry shrub, is native to the area! We try very hard to provide native options in all of our plantings. Let’s get you started!
