Today’s repair included replacing the compressor on a relatively new HVAC system. While modern equipment is designed for reliability, mechanical and electrical components can occasionally fail regardless of a system’s age. This serves as a reminder that even newer equipment may require unexpected repairs. Routine maintenance, proper installation, and prompt service when issues arise are the best ways to maximize the performance and lifespan of your HVAC system.

As part of every service visit, it is my responsibility to thoroughly inspect and verify the proper operation of all accessible components of your HVAC system. During today’s inspection, I found that the indoor drain pan was leaking, which has resulted in water damage to the customer’s ceiling.

Customer agreed to replacement of the drain pan and any underlying drainage issues to prevent further water damage, reduce the risk of mold growth, and help ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the HVAC system.

Indoor Air Filter Reminder

Please remember to inspect and replace your indoor air filter regularly, typically every 1–3 months, depending on filter type, household conditions, and system usage. A clean air filter helps maintain proper airflow, improves indoor air quality, increases system efficiency, and reduces unnecessary strain on your heating and cooling equipment, helping extend the life of your HVAC system.

Cleaning the outdoor condenser coil is essential to the performance and longevity of your air conditioning system. A clean condenser allows the system to reject heat efficiently, reducing operating temperatures, improving energy efficiency, and helping prevent unnecessary strain on the compressor and other critical components. Routine condenser cleaning can extend the life of your system, lower energy costs, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs.
