🧵⚡ A neat piece of history hiding in the rafters!

Found this old junction box dated May 5th, 1956 — still wired with original cloth wiring. While it’s neat to see craftsmanship from almost 70 years ago, cloth wiring like this is no longer safe by today’s electrical standards. Over time, the insulation becomes brittle, increasing the risk of shorts and fires.

If you ever see wiring like this in your home, it’s a good idea to have it inspected or replaced. Safety first — nostalgia second! ⚡🏠 Jefferson Corner Store
