We’ve been the subject of significant online discussion about tree management projects in the Washington DC area recently.
RTEC Treecare did not remove any cherry trees at East
Potomac Park Golf Course or the Tidal Basin, and we have no plans to do so. Claims that RTEC removed willow trees at the Kennedy Center are also false.

While the recent misinformation has been challenging, it has also sparked an important conversation about trees, preservation, and the role arborists play in our communities.

The passion people have shown for trees is the same passion that brought us into this profession. Our approach over the past 30 years has always been simple: preserve whenever possible, remove only when necessary, and prioritize public safety and long-term tree health.

RTEC did not remove any cherry trees at the East Potomac golf course.
Our work was limited to the removal of identified hazard trees.
The cherry tree removals referenced in a recent Washington Post article were not performed by RTEC, and incorrectly attributed to our company.
We are a nonpartisan arboriculture company that has provided professional tree care services to government agencies, municipalities, commercial clients, and private property owners for more than 30 years.
Throughout that time, we have worked with organizations across multiple administrations, regardless of political affiliation.
