The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation officially broke ground on its new headquarters campus yesterday in Raleigh.

Our Raleigh team and design partner LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD. are excited to bring this important project to life. The new campus is designed to bring SBI employees from multiple locations together into one modern, state-of-the-art environment focused on collaboration, efficiency, and innovation.

The project includes construction of a new 73,000-sf, three-story addition featuring a specialized training center and dedicated fitness area, along with a 19,000-SF renovation to SBI’s Building 12. Additional scope includes a separate logistics building, demolition to core and shell, new MEP systems, and updated finishes designed to align with the new addition.

This groundbreaking marks the first step in a four-phase transformation of the campus—the first major redevelopment of the site in more than 50 years.

Our team made incredible progress on the millwork at the National Geographic Museum of Exploration—a project that brings together complex design, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Each curved wood surface you see has been carefully coordinated with structural systems and MEP components, requiring detailed modeling and precision installation.

The ash wood used throughout the space was salvaged from a New Hampshire forest affected by the invasive emerald ash borer—giving this material a second life in a truly unique way.

Opening June 26 in Washington, DC—we can’t wait for the world to experience it.
