Chamberlin Landscape and Tree Care LLC was started in April 2010 by Eric T. Although the business is young in comparison to others, Eric has spent years in the landscape industry building the character traits and skills necessary to operate a successful and trustworthy business. Growing up on a family dairy farm, Eric is no stranger to hard work and long hours. Being raised on the farm, Eric was i
nstilled with a strong work ethic, a respect for Mother Nature and the land, and a sense of responsibility and trust that is often lacking in today’s marketplace. While working for his father in production agriculture Eric soon realized that he wanted to pursue a career that would allow him to work with his hands and be close to the land. As his interest shifted from agronomic crop production to landscaping and nursery production, Eric took a part time job with a landscape contractor to learn the basics of the industry. Eric attended Brockway Area High School where he joined the FFA (Future Farmers of America), which is an organization that strives to teach young people leadership skills while also allowing them to explore the vast array of jobs that are related to agriculture. While in FFA, Eric excelled to president of the local chapter and then went on to serve as the Pennsylvania State Treasurer, representing over 8,000 FFA members. FFA gave Eric the opportunity to plan conferences and visits with many local chapters across the state. Traveling and teaching with the FFA not only gave Eric the ability to expand his knowledge of the horticulture industry but also gave him the foundations of leadership, communication, and record keeping skills that he still uses today. After finishing his term as the PA FFA State Treasurer, Eric went on to Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture where he further developed his love for horticulture and all that it has to offer. Eric graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Design with a specialization in Landscape Contracting and Management and a minor in Business Administration. Eric took a position of leadership and responsibility serving as a Resident Advisor for three years and leading the Landscape Nursery Club as president for two years. Through the Landscape Nursery Club, Eric had the opportunity to travel to Holland and Germany to study European horticulture and how it differed from American horticulture. To pay his way through college, Eric worked for a landscape company in the summers and during school took a job at a nursery where he furthered this knowledge and understanding of landscape plants as well as the behind the scenes operating of such a business. Working full time as a foreman for a landscape company for three years, Eric was able to save the money necessary and finalize his plans to start the operation of his landscape business in April of 2010, working on a part-time basis. In 2011 Eric took his business full time to offer the best service and timely completion of jobs as possible. Since college, Eric and his wife Rachel bought a 32 acre farm where he intends to start a nursery to assist in offering high quality plants to landscaping customers. As you watch Eric work, you will see his passion for landscaping and the attention he pays to detail. Working in the landscaping industry since 1999, Eric has knowledge and experience both professionally and on the job in a vast array of services including: retaining walls, patios, walkways, excavation, French drains, stump removal, designs, plantings, tree and shrub pruning, tree removal, spring and fall maintenance, fertilization, lawn mowing, snow plowing and much more.
