Steep slopes in tight spaces can present a challenge but doesn’t rule out the possibility of building an intimate back yard space. We were able to build just that for a great client. A space full of color and privacy, allowing them to entertain, garden or simply decompress from the day.

We’re reimagining this 200-year-old home with modern twists that are nothing short of epic. Picture this: a cantilevered steel structure embracing the house, with a striking overhang above the front entry. Soon, a steel bridge and corten pergola will join, creating support and dimension for a majestic, 100+ year-old Wisteria vine. The sleek, monochromatic palette will perfectly showcase the native landscape design we have planned.

SAVE OUR BEECH

While we love creating and building timeless outdoor spaces, we also enjoy maintaining them. Our sister company, Peters – Todd’s Inc, has taken on a new fight to save our Beech trees from BLD. Beech Leaf Disease is a serious threat to all Genus of Beech including all its cultivars. BLD is caused by foliar nematodes (Microscopic Worms) that winter over in the leaf buds killing the buds and or damaging the leaves. They quickly spread through rain, wind, birds, animals, and insects. The trees are then forced to shed damaged leaves to produce a second set of leaves using the stored reserve energy depleting the needed energy for the next spring leaf emergence. Continued defoliation and use of this reserved energies over a period of several years will result in tree death.

As of today, there are only a handful of companies in the state offering treatment programs to help save this timeless native tree and we’re proud to be one of them. As our arborists continue to research and work with our vendors, we are confident our approach will help slow and eradicate the spread of this disease preserving this native tree in our landscape for years to come.
