Cass County Electric Cooperative (CCEC) is located in the heart of the Red River Valley and Cass County. We belong to, and were built by, the communities we serve. CCEC doesn’t have shareholders or customers: We have members, and we’re not only committed to providing them with reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, but we’re also passionate about enhancing the quality of life for our more than 55,000 members. As a local business staffed by your friends and neighbors, CCEC is finding new ways to make a difference – beyond delivering electricity. Although we’re local and independent, we’re also part of something bigger: local cooperatives work together to develop new technologies and infrastructure across the country. We’re a driving force in helping attract and grow business and industry to our area, and we are active in our EDCs, various Chamber of Commerce and have a business accounts program to help our small and large business members succeed. We’re always looking for new ways to help our members save energy, save money, and take advantage of the more efficient technology that’s changed the way we live. We’re also a great place to work. We’re uniquely positioned to be a force for good in our community. We invest in our employees through ongoing education and training, so we can better serve our members in the places they live, work, and learn. That’s just one of the seven cooperative principles CCEC and all cooperatives follow. To learn about us, visit CassCountyElectric.com.

Thank you for joining us at the 2026 Member Meeting!

It was a great evening of connecting with members, enjoying a delicious meal and discussing the future of Cass County Electric Cooperative! ⚡

We also want to thank our featured speakers for sharing their insights:

🎤 Paul Matthys, CCEC president and CEO, discussed how the cooperative approaches large electric loads, manages risks and works to protect members.

🎤 Dr. Robert L. Mayo, research specialist at NDSU's Challey Institute, shared research and perspectives on AI data centers and their potential impacts on North Dakota.

🎤 Robert “Mac” McLennan, Minnkota Power Cooperative president and CEO, provided an update on Minnkota's energy strategy and Project Tundra.

As a member-owned cooperative, these conversations are an important part of keeping our members informed and connected.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening a success! 💚 We also want to thank Mobile Pro for their audiovisual support and the Hilton Garden Inn Fargo for hosting us and helping make the evening a success!

When you see utility crews working along the road, give them room to work safely.

Slow down, stay alert, and move over when it is safe to do so. Watch for workers, cones, utility trucks, and equipment near the roadway.

A little extra caution behind the wheel can make a big difference for the crews working just feet away! 🚧⚡

☀️ Thinking about adding solar? There’s an important step before you plug in.

Solar that isn’t properly interconnected can create dangerous conditions on the electric system, including energizing lines during an outage.

Before installing or energizing a system, know what’s required to protect your home, our crews, and the grid.

📖 Learn about safe solar interconnection:

Cleaning gutters is a common fall chore, but it can become dangerous fast if ladders get too close to overhead power lines.

Before you set up or move a ladder, take a moment to look up and look around. Always keep ladders, tools and yourself a safe distance away from power lines.

A few extra seconds of awareness can help prevent a serious accident!
