We are currently looking to fill an immediate opening for a Construction Estimator. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment where the emphasis is placed on teamwork and satisfying our client's needs 100%. A background in Remodeling & New Construction Estimating as well as working on multiple ongoing projects is preferred, with at minimum some time in a Construction Environment and a basic understanding of Construction Processes and Sales is required. Candidate should have strong attention to detail, communicate well, be self- motivated and well organized. Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Check emails for projects invitations to bid
Interface by phone and emails with general contractor/client to clarify scope of work.
Attend job walks when required
Take detailed notes and photos to generate inspection reports of various property types
Read, comprehend and analyze plans and specifications to determine complete scope of work.
Perform take-off using On-Screen Takeoff to determine scope when needed
Learn & Utilize NIS Project Software to create and keep track of RRPs and RFIs
Obtain and Confirm final construction estimates by bid day deadlines
Keep all files updated in NIS Cloud Drives for projects
Keep calendar organized, and keep up to date all follow-ups
Create POs and Invoices for all front-end subcontractor items
Review new job contracts to confirm scope of work when provided
Create schedule and schedule of values.
Converse with the Project Managers & Site Supervisors during construction phases to ensure that the work goes smoothly.
Assist with pricing Change Orders as needed during construction phases
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 1-2 years construction estimating experience or with comparable education - Associates or Bachelor degree preferred - OR - currently in a degree program
Ability to read construction drawings, plan and documents
Proficiency with Google Suite: Google Drive, Calendar, Keep, Gmail, Docs preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint;
Experience with Buildertrend or similar Project Software preferred
Experience with On-Screen Take-off programs preferred
Able to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
Extreme attention to detail and Strong communication skills
