Why does it cost so much?

It’s a fair question, and it deserves an honest answer.

The number on a custom home estimate isn’t your builder getting rich. It’s the cost of not hiring the cheapest crew in town.

The framers, electricians, and finish carpenters who charge more are the ones who get it right the first time. No callbacks. No tearing out work. No “we’ll fix it at the end” that somehow never gets fixed.

You pay for quality either way. Once up front, or three times over in delays, do-overs, and the slow realization that cheap was never actually cheap.

The clients we love working with already know this. They aren’t looking for the lowest bid. They’re looking for the home they’ll still love in twenty years.

That’s the whole job.

Septic questions come up on almost every rural build, so here's the basics.

That little box on the side of the house with the red light? That's your alarm. If something goes wrong with the system, it'll light up and let you know — before it becomes the kind of problem you find out about the hard way.

Those green lids in the yard are your access points. When it's time for service, that's where the company pumps it out.

That's the whole thing at a high level. It's not complicated — it just needs someone to explain it once.

Not all sheetrock is the same. 🔥

The stacks in the garage are 5/8" Type X — thicker than what goes in the rest of the house. That's not a preference, it's a code requirement, and there's a good reason for it. A lot of house fires start in the garage. That thicker board buys the family time.

Everything else is staged room by room — some in the master, the rest in the living room — so the crew isn't hauling sheets across the house all day.

Spray foam's already in on the exterior walls and the full roof deck. Rock goes up next.
