Even though it’s behind the walls, it ALL matters. ⚡️

Neatness. Labels. Pin-straight wiring. Every fixture box laser-leveled. Every detail planned before the walls ever get closed up.

Most people will never see this part of the job — but we know it’s there.

There IS a difference between getting it done and getting it done right.

That’s the Brothers Wiring Concepts difference. 💪⚡️

And we’re proud to be nominated for Best of Long Island! 🏆

⚡️ TESLA CHARGER INSTALL ⚡️

Today’s install consisted of a new dedicated circuit run from the service at the rear of the house all the way to the side of the home, where we installed a Tesla Wall Connector.

EV charging is considered a continuous load under NEC Article 625. A Tesla Wall Connector operating at 48 amps requires a 60 amp circuit because the circuit is sized at 125% of the continuous load.

48A × 125% = 60A

One thing we see all the time is #6 Romex being used for a full 48A charger. NM-B cable is limited to the 60°C ampacity column, where #6 copper is rated at only 55 amps. That makes it a poor choice for a circuit requiring 60 amps of conductor ampacity.

Running properly sized individual conductors in conduit allows us to take advantage of the appropriate conductor temperature ratings and install the charger the way it should be done.

Anyone can hang a charger on the wall. The important part is what’s feeding it. ⚡️🔌
