Blue collar mental health matters.
Last year, over 720,000 people died from su***de.
The construction industry consistently ranks near or at the top for total numbers and rates of su***de. Male construction workers have a 75% higher rate of su***de compared to men in the general working population.
These statistics should alarm you, and open your eyes. Su***de does not discriminate.
In the blue collar industry, there is a mentality that strength is found in the hardest worker or the toughest man.
The thing is, depression and anxiety don’t care how “blue collar” you are.
Sometimes the strongest thing you can do, is ask for help.
