A quick maintenance coat to keep the deep color of this beautiful door for years to come.

After cleaning the door with soap and water and buffing the door down with #2 steel wool I gave it a thorough wipe down with mineral spirits before coating it with Helmsman Marine Spar Varnish. Satin finish.

Preventative maintenance > deferred maintenance

Faux finish... kind of.

We stained this concrete entryway using Benjamin Moore color - potter's clay.

The walkway came out too orangey and looked like a big blob of color.

Wolfie took a close look at it and helped our client come up with a way to create variation in the finish.

We did a sponge affect with a darker color to soften the look.

Mission accomplished!

Meet my new paint partner and mascot, Wolfie!!

Lofton Creek Painting began naturally for me when we bought our first home in Fernandina Beach in 2014. I had been in the painting business my entire life, there was a need for quality house painting in the area, we lived on Lofton Creek, and I needed a job, so I started painting.

The growth happened slowly, but within five years, the company had 13 painters and was doing great work. As the need for services in our area was obvious, we decided to start a handyman division. This company solidified during covid. We proceeded to do the painting under the handyman company at that point.

Moving forward, we sold the handyman company and took an extended sabbatical. We did some traveling and learned a lot. I lost a few pounds and started eating beans. Lol

Recently, after missing a more productive pace. I have started to do some paint jobs and have enjoyed completing projects for homeowners again. So I am officially hanging out my shingle!

We will be doing small exteriors, custom interior painting and other projects as needed.

I am looking forward to the next chapter with a little more peace through aging. :)
