🚧🏡 From Dirt to Development… Mount Prospect is Nearing Completion!

Another successful project is nearing the finish line! SEH is proud to partner with Toll Brothers on Mount Prospect, a beautiful new residential community located in North Potomac, Maryland. Once complete, this thoughtfully designed neighborhood will feature modern home designs, multi-generational living options, and picturesque home sites.

With the majority of our site development work complete, SEH crews are currently focused on curb and gutter replacements necessitated by ongoing home construction activities. We anticipate beginning final surface paving this week, marking the completion of 100% of SEH’s contracted scope of work on this project.

From the initial stages of grading and underground utility installation to the finishing touches of paving, it has been rewarding to watch Mount Prospect transform into a beautiful new residential community. We are proud of the hard work and dedication our crews have put into this project and look forward to seeing the neighborhood continue to grow as homeowners make Mount Prospect their home!

🏗️ PROJECT UPDATE | BALTIMORE CITY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL (BCCHS)

Preserving history while building for the future! SEH Excavating is proud to be part of the ongoing transformation of one of Baltimore’s most historic educational landmarks.

Located in Baltimore, Maryland, Baltimore City College High School was established in 1829 and is recognized as one of the oldest public high schools in the United States. For nearly two centuries, this iconic institution has played an important role in Baltimore’s educational history. Today, the historic campus is undergoing extensive renovations designed to modernize its facilities while preserving its rich architectural character and legacy.

Working for our client, DAVIS Construction, SEH was awarded the full site work package associated with the construction of a new gymnasium and support addition. These improvements are part of a larger campus modernization effort that will enhance educational, athletic, and student facilities for future generations.

Progress on site continues. SEH crews have successfully completed the sediment control traps and have begun demolition and excavation activities to prepare the site for the Support of Excavation (SOE) contractor. These initial phases are essential to preparing the site for the construction of the new addition.

We’re proud to partner with DAVIS Construction on a project that honors Baltimore’s past while investing in its future. We look forward to continuing our progress and playing an important role in the next chapter of this historic institution.

🚌 October 19–23 is National School Bus Safety Week! 🚸
Every school day, millions of children rely on school buses to get them safely to and from school. National School Bus Safety Week serves as an important reminder that keeping our roads safe for young passengers is a responsibility we all share.

At SEH, our trucks and company vehicles travel through neighborhoods, school zones, and busy roadways every day. We recognize the importance of remaining alert, exercising caution, and being especially mindful of school buses and children entering or exiting them.

🚦 A few important reminders for all drivers:

🚌 Watch for stopping school buses. Be prepared to slow down and stop when a bus activates its flashing red lights and stop arm, as required by law.

🚸 Stay alert in school zones. Reduce your speed, eliminate distractions, and watch carefully for children crossing streets or walking near roadways.

🛑 Never assume the road is clear. Children can be unpredictable, especially near bus stops, intersections, and parked vehicles.

👀 Allow extra space. Maintain a safe following distance and give school buses plenty of room to maneuver.

At SEH, safety is a priority both on and off the jobsite. Whether we’re operating heavy equipment, driving a dump truck, or simply commuting to work, every decision behind the wheel matters.

🚧 PROJECT UPDATE | HANOVER LOGISTICS CENTER 🚧

Another round of significant milestones has been reached at Hanover Logistics Center!

Located in Hanover, Maryland, SEH is performing the complete site development package for our client, Glen Arm Construction. Once complete, the property will be home to a new industrial warehouse, further contributing to the area’s growing commercial and industrial landscape.

To date, our crews have successfully completed all mass grading, underground utility installation, and retaining wall construction, marking the completion of several major components of the project.

Despite these accomplishments, recent wet weather presented some unexpected challenges. To help keep the overall construction schedule on track, SEH was asked to prioritize soil cement stabilization of the building pad, allowing the concrete contractor to proceed with their work as scheduled. By quickly adjusting resources and shifting priorities, our team was able to accommodate this request and minimize delays despite the challenging site conditions.

With these milestones behind us, crews are now focused on constructing the new State Highway Administration (SHA) entrance and parking areas. Once this work is complete, attention will shift to the micro-bioretention facilities and sediment pond conversions, with all remaining site development work anticipated to wrap up by the end of the year.

From overcoming unexpected challenges to achieving major construction milestones, our crews continue to demonstrate the teamwork, adaptability, and dedication needed to keep this project moving forward. We look forward to a strong finish at Hanover Logistics Center and another successful project delivered for our client!

🚧 Watershed – Section 7 | Laurel, MD

Another section of Watershed is officially complete!

SEH has wrapped up work on Section 7 at Watershed in Laurel, Maryland, for our client Elm Street Development, marking the completion of our site development for this portion of the community.

This section features a 303-unit apartment community constructed by , complete with a clubhouse, fitness center, pet spa, courtyard with a pool, grilling area, fire pit and playground.

With vertical construction completed, our crews put the finishing touches on the site, completing surface paving, striping, and signage. With those final items in place, SEH’s work on Section 7 is now 100% complete.

From the early stages of site development through the final paving and finishing details, we’re proud to have played a part in bringing this section of Watershed to completion. Congratulations to our crews and project partners on another successful phase of this growing community!

🚶 October is National Pedestrian Safety Month 🚶

At SEH, safety doesn’t stop at the edge of the jobsite. Our crews, equipment and trucks operate in and around active communities every day, making pedestrian awareness an important responsibility for everyone.

Whether you’re operating equipment, driving a company vehicle or working on foot, staying alert to your surroundings can make all the difference. Slow down in busy areas, eliminate distractions, watch blind spots and always be prepared for pedestrians where you may least expect them.

For those working on foot, visibility and awareness are just as important. Stay within designated areas whenever possible, make sure operators and drivers see you, and never assume you’ve been spotted before entering the path of a vehicle or piece of equipment.

This National Pedestrian Safety Month, remember: staying alert, being visible and looking out for one another helps everyone make it home safely. 👷🚧
