Had a new customer call me and ask if I knew how to repair a toilet handle. Yes I do. She said she had a big company send 2 technician over and the put a new fill valve in her toilet, a new flapper and tried to replace the handle. Which the couldn't do.
The handle was what she called about. They put the fill valve n flapper in and charged her 165$ and left without replacing the handle. The reason why they didn't fix the handle is because they couldn't remove the old one. Toilet handles have a reverse thread so when you try to remove it your actually tightening it. They send technicians out that don't have the knowledge and change a lot. So ask if there's a charge if they can't do the job. I wouldn't ever charge if I can't fix because I didn't know how.
