"The abyss is natural and natural is the abyss." I, as Granny Greenthumb, try to raise my plants all natural. My goal is to be 100% organic. I love the Earth, and I grow green.
I use a Michigan made professional potting soil. It contains a natural bio fungal ingredient to prevent fungus. It has been treated with nematodes, which are living organisms that fight back against soil pests naturally. It is also a soil which allows great air circulation and drainage for roots.
Pest infestations are prevented/treated naturally, as well. Ladybugs are used, as opposed to chemical sprays. Ladybugs are amazing creatures. I have a symbiotic relationship with them. The bonding between people and living things is a spiritual experience.
I prefer to use compost, rather than fertilizer most of the time. Banana peels, egg shells, coffee grounds, etc. add all the nutrients needed most of the time. I am also composting any leaves or plant parts taken from the plants, themselves. The Earth going back to the Earth. What a miracle life is. When I do use fertilizer during rapid growing seasons, it is an organic one.
Leaf shine consists of water and elbow grease. i refuse to put leaf shine products on my plant's leaves. The leaves look beautiful all shined up (for a short time). Leaf shine is not natural and is showing an unkindness to the plant. Plant pores get plugged up and the plant can't breathe.
As a result, plants coming out of my shop are healthy, well established and loved. I use good products, natural products, and well-tested products. Thinking of buying a plant? Buy an organically-grown one.

Already sold, but felt like posting any way. Gnome gardens are so much fun.
