Jones Electric Co. is a growing industrial and commercial electrical contractor in the North Alabama, SE Tennessee, and NE Mississippi markets. General applicant requirements for all positions:
• General computer skills – navigating files and programs.
• Experience with MS Excel and MS Word.
• Will be required to communicate articulately with vendors, customers and employees.
• Must maintain neat and professional appearance and maintain good hygiene.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to complete assignments without constant supervision.
• Must be able to adapt to construction environment and work pace.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Background, drug, and credit screening may be required.
Individual position responsibilities may include the following:
1. Administrative Responsibilities:
a. Onboarding Customers & New Hires.
b. Field personnel training scheduling and tracking.
c. Employee and Company Record keeping and tracking.
d. Project documentation assistance.
e. Fleet tracking, maintenance, and compliance.
f. Maintaining personnel training records and scheduling.
g. Office management – company supplies and services.
h. Receiving phone calls and communicating with vendors and customers.
2. Accounting and bookkeeping.
a. Payroll.
b. Benefit reporting and payments.
c. AR/AP.
d. Invoicing.
e. Job Costing.
f. Project and financial reporting.
g. Accounts reconciliation.
h. Working with CPA for Tax Reporting and payments.
3. Estimating and/or Project Management –
a. Estimating and managing small to large industrial and/or commercial projects.
b. Scheduling projects.
c. Managing project budgets and reports.
d. Must be able to demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and experience.
e. Must be able to navigate complicated projects and employee variabilities professionally.
f. Must be aligned with company mission and vision.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS –
Please note which position you are applying for on your resume or application. All positions offer benefit options such as insurance, retirement, and paid leave. All positions are full-time, 100% in-office position, but Jones Electric Co. can accommodate the need for flexible work schedules for working parents.
1. ADMIN ASSISTANT – $15 - $20 per hour
a. Must possess all requirements for general applicants.
b. This position would require 0 to moderate experience in any of the administrative job duties.
c. Part time position may be available.
2. OFFICE MANAGER – $50k+
a. This position will require moderate+ experience in listed administrative duties.
b. 0 to Moderate level of general knowledge and experience with bookkeeping and general accounting principles.
c. Moderate+ level of experience in MS Excel and MS Word.
d. Credit screening and background check required.
3. CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT –$65k+
a. Must possess all requirements for general applicants.
b. This position will require moderate+ skills in accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities and will be required to prove competency in these skills.
c. Extensive knowledge of job costing principals required.
d. Moderate+ abilities in MS Excel.
e. Construction experience preferred.
f. Credit screening and background check required.
4. ESTIMATOR/PM – Competitive
a. Must possess all requirements for general applicants.
b. Experience with MS Projects preferred but not required.
c. Must possess extensive industry knowledge and firm understanding of contracting workflow, budgeting and jobsite management.
d. Moderate+ experience in managing and estimating small to large industrial and/or commercial I&E projects
e. Experience in current company markets preferred.
f. Credit screening and background check required.
