We would like to highlight a newer vendor who has incredibly interesting products that are a true work of heart!

Here is a little more about Dave from Knot & Burl!
"I started making pens in Fall 2023. Scrolling through reels on my phone lead to watching videos of pens being made and I thought 'that looks really cool, I want to try!' After a lot of experimenting with different woods, inlays, and finishing techniques, I felt confident enough to apply to my first show last summer.
My most challenging pieces are my “Pens With a Story” like the Gettysburg pens I make have metal shavings from a 3-ring 58 caliber bullet (recovered from Gettysburg) inlays in them. With those, I have to place each bullet shaving in the inlay grooves with tweezers, one at a time. My favorite part of Knot & Burl Woodcraft is finding the rare woods/historical pieces and giving them new life as functional works of art. I remember how moved I was the first time I made one of my WW2 pens; it was an emotional experience turning the rifle stock of an M1 Garand rifle into a writing tool. Or the first time I took a wooden spoke from a Ford Model T and turned it into a pen - I could actually smell motor oil as I turned the wood! I also love seeing a customer be moved emotionally by the connection they have to one of my Pens With a Story."
