‼️Not all roof repairs are FORTIFIED-compliant.
We were recently called out to re-do a flashing repair after another contractor did not document the process. When we removed the flashing and underlayment we found this deteriorated decking. Not only did the previous contractor not document the process, which is required for the Fortified recertification, they also installed new flashings and underlayment over this deteriorated decking.
For homes with a FORTIFIED Roof™, repairs must be properly documented and completed using compliant materials. Otherwise, you will lose your Fortified certification and any insurance savings you are receiving because of it.
Choosing a Certified FORTIFIED Contractor helps ensure repairs are completed correctly and your designation is protected. Always do your due diligence and check out the contractor you choose to make repairs to your home. Even though new flashings and underlayment have been installed, this roof was setup to fail by leaving this deteriorated decking in place.
