I don't ask for help on here much, but I need it in this case. The first picture is the inside of some fiberglass doors. Second picture is the outside along with the third picture. Fourth picture is the inside. I need the outside to look like the inside. They've been stained and sanded multiple times with gel coat on the outside. I'm afraid they've been sanded too much to the point where the texture has been smooth down. But I can't tell if it's that or just too much gel coat. How should I handle this?
My first thought is stripping down the outside back to the bear fiberglass. And then simply painting not gel coating. However I'm not sure that that will look the same. My second thought is stripping them down and putting a new gel coat on them along with UV resistant polyurethane finish. Because the doors do catch about 6 hours of Sun a day. Again any thoughts out there?
