The other day a customer called me to come and rekey their home. They recently purchased a home and had some issues with their locks. The previous owner had provided no keys for the home, stating "we never lock the doors"..

I arrived at the address and noted that this was the best door in the whole house. I put together an estimate for complete hardware change, all keyed to match along with repair of this door, putting a lock on a storm door that was acting as a back entry and figuring out how to lock a sliding Pella patio door that had been installed backwards.

I recommended that this job be taken care of in stages due to the cost and the customers living situation

Locksmith training programs cannot possibly prepare professionals for every eventuality. The reality is that some jobs require more than technical proficiency; they demand empathy and a genuine commitment to customer service. An elderly customer recently presented a situation that highlighted this point. Struggling to recall previous conversations and appointments, he contacted me under the assumption we had a scheduled appointment for that day. I had to clarify that I was still on vacation, having referred him to another locksmith the previous week due to my unavailability. Despite the confusion, he requested my services for that day, and I accommodated his request. However, upon arrival, I found that the other locksmith, whom I had recommended, had already completed the work to a high standard and at a fair price. The customer was confused but gracious, and despite his protests, I refused to charge him for the unnecessary visit, given the circumstances. We spent some time discussing his past business ventures and life in general, which brought him a measure of comfort. Eventually, his wife called him back into the house, and I left with a renewed sense of the importance of the human element in locksmithing. Saints Lock & Key

Mrs All Saints Lock and I took a bit of a vacation to celebrate our 21st Anniversary of being married, two kids have reached adulthood and graduated highschool and both will be attending college. We couldn't be happier!

Timber Bay Lodge and Houseboats is a getaway that has been a yearly family "guys" trip since I was 10 years old (1982). There are new owners but same old place.

This year I introduced Mrs All Saints Lock. It was a special time and we booked our same cabin for next year.

I'm back in town, refreshed now and All Saints Lock is ready for all your locksmith needs
