It’s with a heavy heart that I share the sudden loss of my father, Private First Class Steven Mark Hill Sr. (AKA Steve). He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served nearly 5 years as a Combat Engineer, earning titles like PSC, Air Assault, and Jungle Expert during his time at Fort Campbell, Kentucky starting in 1977. But beyond his service, he was a loving grandfather, father, brother, son, and uncle—someone who always had wisdom to share and lessons to teach. His strength and kindness touched every person who knew him.
Our family is still in shock and grieving this unexpected loss. We want to honor my dad’s memory and military service with a proper funeral and memorial, but the costs are overwhelming, especially given how suddenly he passed. We are hoping to raise $8,500 to cover funeral and memorial expenses, ensure he receives the veteran’s burial he deserves, and help our family through this difficult time.
If you’re able to support us with a donation, it would mean the world as we give my father the dignity and honor he earned. If you can’t donate, sharing this post would also help so much.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, prayers, and support as we remember and celebrate the life of Steve—our devoted dad and proud Army veteran.
With gratitude,
Steven Hill Jr.
