We're dedicated to crafting tailored, cost-effective services, leveraging our full-service capabilities. HWC Logistics is the culmination of a family journey that actually began in the 1950’s in New Orleans when a WWII Veteran named Dick Owens had the vision that international trade was about to become a part of the American business landscape. Dick was working as a janitor in the local Jax Brewer

y plant at the time when he decided to move to Chicago, IL in the hopes of becoming a licensed Customs House Broker. Dick worked for local brokers in the early 50’s and then in 1957 Dick opened his own firm – Airsped, Inc, and became the first Customs Broker to open an office at then named Old Orchard Airport – later to become O’Hare International. Owens changed his business over the years to include courier service and small warehousing services. His legacy in the Chicago trade community includes the longest serving President of the Chicago Brokers Association as well the mentoring and employment of many of the brokers who shaped the Chicago landscape over these past decades. In 1981, Dick’s son, Mike Owens, after graduation from Tulane University in New Orleans, started his own business in Atlanta by buying a Dodge Van and opening a courier service serving the needs of the six local brokers in the Atlanta market. Mike named the company Hartsfield Warehouse Co., Inc. and started in a small 200 square foot office in the North Cargo Building. Focused on growing the business and exceeding the service expectations of the growing international trade community, Hartsfield Warehouse was able to grow from that single van in 1981 to an industry leading single source provider of Distribution, Warehousing, Transportation, Import & Export services serving the trade community with over 800,000 square feet of warehouse space located in Atlanta, Charlotte and Savannah. The transportation fleet now numbers 50 power units and serves our customer’s transportation needs in the Southeast, Midwest and Eastern Seaboard regions. In 2012, Hartsfield Warehouse, after the acquisition of Atlanta transportation market leader, Cargo Services of Atlanta, changed their name to HWC Logistics to more closely identify our capabilities and services as a Total Logistics Management Provider. Our pathway to success, which sprang from a vision of man in New Orleans in 1950 that knew international trade was an exciting place to be and would be the driving force in our countries economic growth, has now defined our company. We are glad to be a part of such a great industry.

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as the dedicated Account Owner for 2–3 distribution customers within our logistics network. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day customer operations, ensuring data accuracy across all logistics platforms, and maintaining exceptional customer and driver communication. The CSR will coordinate order processing, shipment tracking, and issue resolution while upholding the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence.

𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
· Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned distribution customers.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, transportation partners, and internal teams.
· Respond promptly to customer and driver inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
· Understand and adhere to each customer’s and retailer’s specific shipping, labeling, and appointment requirements.
· Support drivers on-site with appointment details, dock assignments, and load verification.

𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 & 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
· Accurately maintain and update data across multiple systems:
o WMS (Ramp) – manage inventory, order entry, and status updates.
o Appointment Board (Open Dock) – book and confirm delivery/pickup appointments.
o Picture Board (Load Proof) – upload and verify shipment and BOL images.
o HWC Container Board – track container arrivals and movements.
o Parcel Shipments (UPS/FedEx) – process and monitor small parcel orders.
o Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation and data entries.

𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠
· Process approximately 50 truckload/LTL orders per day and 70 parcel shipments per day.
· Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with carriers and warehouse teams.
· Verify customer orders, packing lists, and BOL documentation prior to shipment.
· Capture and upload proof-of-delivery and BOL images as required.
