I hope you all are enjoying a safe and fun holiday weekend! I am very excited to start the warm season and announce the launch of my new online store powered by . My site is split into two main sections. “Wood Goods” is very much infantile but it’s where I will land my portfolio and any of the hand made quality furniture and woodworking goods that I produce out of my studio. “Tools and Treaures” is where you will find quality tools, books, and the eclectic I have up for sale, many of which have been evaluated,restored and tested by me. I have been deep in tool restorations lately, while simultaneously building a new website powered by Shopify, this is a Stanley Bailey No. 4 Type 11 that I finished and will be available on my site very soon. The iron, lever cap and frog were treated via electrolysis and buffed back to a satin finish. The main body was thoroughly cleaned and oiled, sole and cheeks buffed back to a satin finish as well, the goal is to remove the active rust but leave the character and witness marks, I want rust free but without altering the surface of the metal much by over abrasion, most old tools need a very gentle cleaning and a heavy oil application

I really enjoy custom framing and matting, I have a collection of concert posters and artwork that I need to get into frames, this is one I did a couple years ago from scraps of sapwood mahogany I saved off a jobsite, I applied black stain via spray application to really obscure the grain color but enhance the texture of the mahogany, top coated with enduro pre-cat satin. The subtle but enhanced grain texture mimics the swirling effect in the artwork but doesn’t compete with the complexity of the matting or the art itself
