Children’s spaces have a way of becoming some of the most personal spaces in a home. They’re places to play, rest, imagine, and grow, and we love designing them with that evolution in mind.

Rather than making them feel overly themed or precious, we gravitate toward rooms with warmth, character, and pieces that can stay with them through different seasons of childhood. A little whimsy, a little nostalgia, and plenty of room for their own story to unfold.

Incorporating antique furniture into our projects has become one of our favorite parts of the design process.

There’s something about the hunt for just the right piece—whether it’s a standalone piece of furniture or an antique we plan to reimagine as a custom vanity. Finding something with the right proportions, character, and patina isn’t always easy, but it’s a challenge we will happily take on every time.

These timeworn pieces bring a history and soul to a space that simply can’t be replicated with something new. The imperfections, craftsmanship, and signs of a life lived before add another layer to a home and help it feel collected over time rather than designed all at once.

In a world that moves increasingly fast and becomes more technologically driven by the day, we find ourselves craving these pieces even more.

They remind us that home doesn’t need to feel perfect or brand new. It should feel personal, familiar, and full of character. It should feel, well… like home.

The exterior of your home is an extension of the way you live within it.

We spend so much time thinking about interiors, and of course, they matter deeply—but we believe thoughtful design shouldn’t stop at the walls of a home. Outdoor living spaces and landscaping shape how you experience your home every day, whether you’re gathering outside, enjoying a quiet morning on the patio, or simply looking through the windows at the landscape beyond.

We love creating outdoor spaces that encourage our clients to step outside, slow down, and connect with nature without ever having to leave home. And because the landscape becomes the view from within, we see it as an important part of the interior experience, too.

At Augusta Trail, we were fortunate to have the opportunity to help shape not only the interiors, but elements of the exterior architecture and landscaping as well—allowing the home, its outdoor spaces, and the surrounding landscape to feel connected as a whole.

And truly, we’d happily spend our days just about anywhere here—inside or out.

The kitchen at Augusta Trail really does have it all. It’s almost hard to know where to begin.

A custom forged steel hood, a six-foot paneled refrigerator + freezer (yes, you read that right—a 36” refrigerator and 36” freezer), and two full-sized islands are just a few of the details that make this space what it is.

But what we love most is the use of raw, authentic materials throughout the home. Real wood beams, natural stone, brick, and steel bring warmth, texture, and character in a way that only gets better with time.

We’ve always believed in choosing materials that will wear in rather than wear out—the kind that develop a patina, tell a story, and become more beautiful as the home is lived in.

Many of you followed along as this one slowly came to life, and we’re so excited to finally introduce our Augusta Trail Project. 🤍

Some homes ask to be made new. Others ask to feel as though they’ve always been there.

Set along Ptarmigan Golf Course in Fort Collins, this home began with great bones and endless potential. We took it down to the studs, reimagining not only each room, but much of the home’s architecture—all with one guiding idea: to create something that felt collected over time rather than designed all at once.

Exposed wood beams, natural stone, arched openings, timeworn finishes, and layers of antiques and vintage pieces bring the warmth and soul of an old European country home. Modern comforts are quietly woven throughout, creating a home that lives beautifully for the family who calls it theirs.

The result feels warm, storied, and a little imperfect in all the right ways—a home that feels less newly renovated and more lovingly shaped over generations.

A sweet little powder bath tucked quietly into the entryway of this home. Working within the existing timber-framed structure meant embracing a few asymmetrically placed beams along the way, and honestly, they became the charm.

Wrapped in one of our favorite wallpapers by and emphasized by a full height mirror, this space is a reminder that beauty doesn’t require perfect symmetry.

Our palette was shaped by nature and guided by restraint. We wanted the home to honor its mid-century modern roots while softening the edges with something a bit more timeless, feminine, and quietly refined.

From that vision came a layered mix of light terrazzo, warm white oak, and rich walnut tones, balanced with subtle touches of earthy green throughout. Every material was chosen to feel grounded and organic, speaking not only to the character of the home itself, but also to the people now caring for this mountain beauty and writing its next chapter.

Everyone meet our Redstone Canyon project!

Perched along the hillside in Redstone Canyon in Loveland, Colorado with unobstructed breathtaking views of Horsetooth Mountain, this mid-century modern mountain home has always been defined by its connection to the landscape. While the modern architecture carried a strong, iconic mountain presence with clean lines, the interior elements no longer supported the way this young couple wanted to live. Our design approach involved a full interior remodel to enhance livability while honoring the mountain retreat’s original character—refining the flow, introducing a more grounded material palette, and allowing the natural light and sightlines to take the lead throughout the main living spaces, bedrooms, and kitchen.

On the lower level, a former garage was reimagined as a wellness-driven modern mountain retreat, complete with a sauna, steam shower, cold plunge, TV lounge, and expansive bar—designed for both restoration and gathering. Throughout, we were intentional about preserving the home’s original architecture and stunning views, layering in a more modern, livable expression without altering its form. The result is a home that feels both settled and renewed—a modern mountain style that is deeply connected to its setting and designed to be experienced.
