⚑ Watt to Do Wednesday: When Your Lights Flicker

Not all flickering lights are cause for concern, but they can sometimes be your electrical system's way of letting you know something needs attention.

πŸ’‘ First, determine where the flickering is happening.

Is it just one light fixture?
Is it multiple lights in one room?
Is it happening throughout the entire house?

A single flickering light could be something as simple as a loose bulb or a failing fixture. Multiple flickering lights may point to a loose connection, an overloaded circuit, or another electrical issue.

πŸ’‘ Pay attention to when it happens.

When the air conditioner kicks on?
When the microwave is running?
During storms or windy weather?
Randomly throughout the day?

These details can help identify whether the issue is related to a specific appliance, circuit, or power source.

πŸ’‘ Don't ignore frequent flickering.
While occasional flickering can be normal, consistent flickering lights may indicate loose wiring or connections. Electrical issues rarely fix themselves and can become more serious over time.

πŸ“ž Not sure what's causing it?
Give Bemrich Electric a call. Our team can troubleshoot the issue, identify the cause, and help keep your home or business operating safely.

⚑ watt to do wednesday: why does my breaker keep tripping?

if you're constantly heading to the panel to reset a breaker, your electrical system is trying to tell you something.

common causes include:
πŸ”Œ too many devices on one circuit
πŸ”Œ faulty appliances
πŸ”Œ damaged wiring
πŸ”Œ ground faults or short circuits

what should you do?
βœ” unplug devices on the affected circuit
βœ” reset the breaker once
βœ” pay attention to what was running when it tripped

what shouldn't you do?
❌ keep resetting the breaker over and over
❌ replace it with a larger breaker
❌ ignore burning smells or warm outlets

if your breaker continues to trip, it's time to have it inspected. breakers are designed to protect your home and family from electrical hazards.

πŸ“ž if you're experiencing frequent breaker trips, give Bemrich Electric a call at 515-955-3257. We're happy to help troubleshoot the issue and get things operating safely again.

Yesterday, one of our own, Josh Boehler, had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight, departing from the Fort Dodge Airport and traveling to Washington, D.C. alongside veterans from across Iowa. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈβœˆοΈ The Honor Flight gives veterans the chance to visit the memorials built in honor of their service and sacrifice β€” creating memories and moments that are truly unforgettable. ❀️

Josh was honored to help accompany and support local veterans throughout the trip. It’s an experience that serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who served our country.

We’re proud to have employees like Josh who genuinely care about our community and appreciate opportunities that honor our veterans. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβœ¨
