It's been 365 days since I was told that he's gone. I think about the phone call I missed and never returned a week before that day. I think about how I lived 20 minutes away but had so much trouble finding time to make that drive. I think about what I would give to have been able to say goodbye, I think about how at 43 years old I still need my daddy. I think about how the pain is still just as severe today as it was on that day. Those friends of mine that still have that opportunity to make that phone call or take that drive. Believe me when I say that if you don't, you will never forgive yourself. My dad was my hero and he died not really knowing that. I miss him so much, he was a great man and the world is definitely worse off without him in it. .
