After 48,000 single operator hours, Armand decided it was time for an upgrade. Coming out of a 2004 Tigercat 822 and into a 2026 Tigercat 820 is a big step, and we’re happy we could help him transfer not only his MURS radio, but also the 110V power inverter and 12V accessory plugs into the new machine.

Although the 820 is considered a new model among the Tigercat brand, it retains the same cab – meaning we can incorporate our antenna installation procedure common with the other tracked carriers from the brand. It ensures longevity and a quick change antenna mounting solution.

We’re always amazed these old dinosaurs from General Motors are still in production to this day, but as they say: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

We came out to Allagash to get this Chevy Express rigged up with an easy to use Icom F5021 MURS radio to ensure reliable communication through the North Maine Woods. To top it off, we paired it up with an 18” antenna through the roof in order to not interfere with canoes carried on top.

On location in Chester readying this Freightliner 122SD dump truck for service. Not only did we equip it with an Icom F5021 MURS radio, but we rid it of the typical Daimler Trucks mirror mounted CB issues plaguing these models. We even mounted a short, tunable antenna to cut down on unwanted tree hits common with rural Maine roads.
