A filter drier is a small but critical component of your air conditioning system. Located near the condenser, it helps remove moisture, dirt, and contaminants from the refrigerant, protecting the compressor and helping your AC system operate efficiently.

The filter drier should be replaced anytime the refrigerant system is opened, including compressor replacement, refrigerant leak repairs, evaporator coil replacement, or when the evaporator coil is removed for a deep cleaning. Replacing the filter drier after opening the system helps prevent moisture, restrictions, and potential compressor damage.
