As the November 3 election approaches, residents may have questions about the mosquito control district referendum.

When is the election?
Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

What is being decided?
Voters in the Lee County Mosquito Control and Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control districts will vote on legislation concerning the merger of the two districts.

Who votes on the referendum?
Qualified electors residing within the respective mosquito control districts.

When is early voting?
October 19 through October 31, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

🗳️ KNOW BEFORE YOU VOTE

A special district referendum concerning Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control and Lee County Mosquito Control will appear on the November 3, 2026 ballot.

The referendum concerns legislation that would:

• Expand the boundaries of the Lee County Mosquito Control District to include all of Lee County
• Abolish the Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control District
• Transfer the assets and liabilities of the Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control District to the Lee County Mosquito Control District

The legislation provides that the merger would take effect only if approved by a majority of qualified electors voting in BOTH districts.

Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control is sharing this information so residents can review the official ballot language and make their own informed decision.

Effective mosquito control takes teamwork, communication, and a commitment to serving our community.

We’d like to introduce the people working behind the scenes and in the field to help provide mosquito control services to Fort Myers Beach:

👤 Brenton — Executive Director
Providing leadership and oversight for the District’s operations and administration.

🦟 Chris — Spray Technician
Working in the field to monitor mosquito activity and perform mosquito control applications.

🦟 Xavier — Spray Technician
Working alongside the team in the field to monitor, respond to service requests, and provide mosquito control services throughout the District.

📋 ShaBro Solutions Corp. — Administration
Supporting the District with administrative services, communications, records, compliance support, and day-to-day coordination.

We are pleased to introduce Brenton, our new Executive Director, and welcome him to the Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control team.

As Executive Director, Brenton will help oversee the District’s operations, administration, and continued service to the Fort Myers Beach community.

Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control is sharing information about the upcoming November 3, 2026 referendum so residents can understand what will appear on the ballot.

The referendum concerns the proposed merger of the Lee County Mosquito Control District and the Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control District.
